Daring Leadership with Sarah Madras

Aug 27, 2021

Many of us think about leadership as a skill or characteristic for only people in the workplace, or at a certain level in their career, but what about people who work part time, or from home, or only in the home?

Leadership is seeing potential in someone else and having the courage to nurture and develop that potential, which means we are ALL leaders. And being a leader takes courage, it takes vulnerability, and it often requires us to work through our own fears, hesitations, negative self-talk and “should be” stories.

That’s why I’m so excited to have Sarah Madras on today’s bonus episode! Sarah is a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, turned Mindset Transformation Expert & Certified Dare to Lead Coach. She’s spent almost 2 decades being the keeper of everybody’s secrets, so you know this is going to be good!

One of Sarah’s core beliefs (that I’m now adopting) is to: Choose momentary discomfort over long term resentment.

This topic came up specifically when talking about how to have hard conversations, challenges with spouses, and the trap of all-or-nothing thinking we get sucked into with every area of life. I normally talk about it when it comes to food or thoughts about our bodies, but the truth is, this habit of extremes is often at play in every area of life - and that’s ok. Once you know how to spot it, you can start changing the conversation.

I know you’ll walk away with plenty of “ah-ha” moments as we talk about ALL THE THINGS!

What’s in this episode:

  • How we can all become better leaders at home and at work.
  • The two core fears people have, and how they impact your ability to show up in life.
  • How to cultivate courage to have hard conversations and ask for what you want.
  • The brain science of all-or-nothing thinking, and how it impacts every area of life.

As a bonus, Sarah is offering a free Mindset Breakthrough Call to anyone who listens to this episode. Visit this page to sign up.
