How often have you kept eating even when you were full, because you “didn’t want to waste it,” or “you wanted to get your money’s worth”? 


This happens all too often, and it’s these thoughts about money and waste that can drive our overeating habit. 


Sometimes we have to look at our thoughts about food… but sometimes we have to look at our thoughts about other things - and money is a BIG ONE! 


The secret saboteur of your weight loss goals… is your thoughts about money.


We have a relationship with money because we have thoughts about it - just like with food, fitness, our bodies, ourselves… And many of these thoughts about money were downloaded when we were 5, 6, 7 years old. 


Some of you may have grown up with a very healthy relationship to money, and if that’s you, then great! But for the rest of us, we have a money story, full of negative thoughts and feelings. 


(These are not all my personal thoughts / feelings - I wanted to include a variety of the most common.) 


We learned early on what to think about money:

  • Making money is hard work 
  • Money doesn’t grow on trees 
  • We don’t have the money for that / enough money 
  • That’s too much money 
  • People with money are evil and take advantage of others 
  • You’re expensive / you have expensive taste 


How to feel about money

  • Greedy, selfish, uncomfortable, discontent, scarcity, urgency
